But I love painting cups!
Now after swearing off cups and tiles I've run into these photos and remembered how much fun I had painting these. AH! Does everyone feel this way? Like there are so many directions to go and so much I want to do I can't do anything. I'm completely paralyzed. Yet another reason I enjoy the warmer months much more than these cold ones. It's pretty straightforward what to do next when I walk into my studio. My house just always needs more or really any cleaning. I blame the dog!

It's finally gotten really cold this winter and dragging my feet I have closed up my outbuilding clay studio. On the bright side I'm setting up my gear for a drawing and painting studio in my house. A little more rearranging and I'll be playing in paint. I'm excited and nervous. Getting started is the hardest part. I'm agonizing over where to start, I have so many ideas. I'm also scared as my proficiency with my new medium is shaky at best. Oh well, here are some new photos at least or is that at last! Be cool or warm or something good!

2012 new work and images

Here are some recent images taken by Mary Vogel in Bakersville. She did a great job and I found her a delight to work with.
It's cold here, alas it is February, and my latest batch of pots are currently frozen. This probably doesn't bode well for their future. Still can't control the weather. Is it spring yet???

TRAC show
I have just completed setting up a show with my good friend Susan Feagin at the TRAC gallery in burnsville. I am happy with the show and I think Susan's and my work look great together. For more info check out http://www.toeriverarts.org/exhibits_burnsville.shtml
Thanks to everyone for coming out to the opening. I appreciate the support and loved catching up with everybody.
Happy Summer Ya'll!

Recent Work

Greetings everyone. I've been a bit behind on my blog. It is almost summer here and the world is green again. Once more the days are perfect for studio time. The allure of a garden beckons and is taking shape slowly. This past winter was tough for this southern girl, but then summer more than makes up for it. Best to all!

New Amber Pots
Here is some recent amber work. Things are just calming down after a hectic fall of work at Penland and gallery deadlines. Winter has offically arrived with snow and temperatures in the teens. Looking forward to a quiet winter so I can do it all over again in spring. Best to all.
